Acquisition of Ammunition & Firearms in Germany

General Information

The transfer of weapons and ammunition requiring authorization is only permitted to holders of a corresponding acquisition permit (firearm ownership card with appropriate entry, annual/three-year hunting license, or red firearm ownership card for collectors or experts, ammunition acquisition permit).

Without further authorization, the acquisition of interchangeable and replacement barrels is possible if the "base weapon" is already registered in the purchaser's firearm ownership card. However, the acquisition must be reported to the authorities within 14 days and recorded in the firearm ownership card.

Please always send us the necessary documents with your order, either in original or as certified copies (not older than 14 days). Additionally, we always require a copy of both sides of your ID card. You will receive the original documents back after processing.

Shipping Information

We generally only ship firearms and ammunition subject to authorization within Germany and only upon proof of eligibility for acquisition. Outside Germany, the respective export regulations also apply.

With a valid annual hunting license, you can purchase hunting rifles and their corresponding ammunition. Hunting rifles are those firearms not prohibited under the valid Federal Hunting Act at the time of firearm acquisition. Long-gun ammunition permitted under the Federal Hunting Act can be purchased with a valid annual hunting license. For handgun ammunition, the hunter requires an acquisition permit, which is granted by entry in the firearm ownership card.

The firearm acquisition must be reported to the competent authority within two weeks. During the validity of your hunting license, you only need to present it once, or you can send us an officially certified copy of your hunting license or the form prepared by us (officially certified transcript of the hunting license). The documents will be registered by us and apply to all subsequent orders within the validity period.

Storage Instructions

Anyone possessing firearms or ammunition must take the necessary precautions to prevent these items from being lost or taken by unauthorized persons. Only those authorized may have access to firearms and ammunition. Firearms must be stored separately from ammunition unless stored in a special secure container (e.g., container meeting the DIN/EN 1143-1 resistance grade 0 – as of May 1997).
